Dog-Friendly Fayetteville: Finding the Best Places to Sit, Stay and Play

If you’re thinking about a road trip with Rover, you’re in for a treat with Arkansas. Topping our list of the best states to visit with your dog, Arkansas is a hidden gem waiting to be explored. It’s so dog-friendly, that we’ve narrowed it down to our favorite, and one of the most dog-friendly, Fayetteville.

Tucked into the Boston Mountain Range of the Ozarks, Fayetteville has nearly 50 city parks encompassing more than 3,000 acres of land. There are also over 40 miles of paved and natural trails, three lakes, and an abundance of dog-friendly green space to explore.

Fayetteville Farmers Market

Our friends at Experience Fayetteville keep an updated list of dog-friendly establishments in town including restaurants, breweries, bars, and other dog-friendly spots like bookshops, food truck parks, and the farmer’s market, and there are over 100 pet-friendly hotels and short-term rentals in Fayetteville.

Dickson Street, Fayetteville Pup Crawl

Throughout the year, Fayetteville hosts an array of events specifically dedicated to our four-legged friends. On Saturday, April 27, 2024, Fayetteville will host its 11th annual Dickson Street Pup Crawl (pictured above) benefiting the Fayetteville Animal Shelter.

This year’s event will feature a “Paw-ty Central” at the Walton Arts Center Rose Garden, as well as doggie splash pools, a selfie spot, and participation from a dozen local bars and establishments each offering one canine-themed drink special.

A few days later, the University of Arkansas opens up Baum-Walker baseball stadium to dogs and their humans for the annual Bark in the Park.

Speaking of Bark in the Park, be sure to check out these dog-friendly Major League Baseball games and these dog-friendly Minor League Baseball games across the U.S.

But, back to Fayetteville! If you’re ready to hit the road with Rover, be sure to visit
